SCARE - “South Carolina Awareness & Rescue for Equines” This organization works with the county humane societies and local law enforcement to attempt to ensure the welfare and safety of equines in our state, by assisting in investigating abuse and/or neglect, which very often involves starvation.

We have been invited to visit a SCARE rescue facility in Pickens County to get a feel for what they do and to learn more about how the program works. It is in Marietta, but we will meet at the McDonald’s in Pickens, Saturday, 11/17 at noon to grab a quick lunch. We will then be leaving McDonald's at 12:30. If you prefer to meet us there, the address is 107 Keeler Bridge Road, Marietta

We will also be accepting donations at our meeting to buy a few things to donate to their program. They are in need of shavings and feed. If you would like to bring a few dollars to donate for this purpose, please bring to the meeting. All donations would be greatly appreciated!

Christmas Cards for our Recovering American Soldiers

At our next meeting, we will be taking a picture of the club to send in Christmas cards, along with a short note to our injured American soldiers. These will be distributed to the soldiers at Walter Reed Army Medical Center that do not receive much mail. This is something very simple for us to do that could make a real difference in the lives of our soldiers.
